Flutter on by to our May luncheon and enjoy Ken Stolte’s presentation on butterflies! Ken, a member of the Tarpon Springs Garden Club, will share his knowledge on butterflies, how he got started, and why he is inspired to save the Monarchs.
Here are some facts about Monarchs: They are poisonous to predators because their caterpillar diet of milkweed stores toxins, and their beautiful orange and black colors are warning signals. A group of monarchs is called a “flutter,” and males have distinct black dots (pheromone sacs) on their hindwings that females lack. Attend our May luncheon and be amazed at what you’ll learn about this beloved butterfly.
