Join PHNC for a celebration of our rich Celtic heritage at the February Meeting, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the vibrant sounds of the Scottish Highlands. The St. Andrews Pipe and Drum Band of Tampa Bay will captivate us with their traditional Highland music.

Robert Jacob has been a passionate history buff and historical re-enactor for the past 40 years. At the January luncheon, He will discuss the beginning of our state’s history in the guise of Andrew Jackson. Join us for an exciting look back at our past! Once again, we invite our gentlemen friends to join this luncheon event.

Andrew Jackson, one of the most famous figures in American history, rocketed to fame with his stunning victory at the Battle of New Orleans. His bold actions in Florida cemented him as one of the most prominent figures in forming the United States. Jackson, Florida’s first governor and eventually the seventh President of the United States, invaded Florida several times when Florida was Spanish territory.

At the December 17th luncheon, PHNC will be collecting for Hero To A Child (Guardian ad Litem Foundation) which provides toys, food, and necessities to children who have been removed from their homes.

Thank you for being an advocate to children and youth in dependency care. Hero To A Child is proud to help support these kids by providing for their individual needs. Domestic violence and child abuse do not take a break during this time of year. Please help by supporting Hero To A Child (formerly Guardian ad Litem) care for children placed in foster care.

Some useful gift cards: Walmart, Target, Amazon, Visa, Bath & Body Works and Forever 21 (for our teens). Looking for a volunteer opportunity? Consider being a volunteer Guardian ad Litem. Learn more at GALF. Your donation via gift card or check made out to Hero To a Child will be greatly appreciated.

PHNC will be collecting for FEAST, a local food pantry, at the November 19th Luncheon. FEAST provides food and personal care supplies to families in need in the North Pinellas County area. At this time, FEAST is most in need of the following shelf-stable items.

Peanut butter & jelly
Canned soup
Cereal
Dry pasta & sauce
Canned Veggies

Canned fruit

Gift cards from Aldi, Publix, and Walmart are also greatly needed.

PHNC Goes “Back to School”

Did you know that one in five homeless people in Tampa Bay is a child? That is more than 1,000 young people. And PHNC members can make a difference! At the July 16th meeting PHNC members are asked to bring Back to School Supplies that will be donated to HEP (Homeless Empowerment Program).

Prior to the pandemic PHNC provided HEP with school supplies and support, and now that things are back to normal we are going “Back To School” and asking you to once again step up and help a student achieve!
