Fly high with PHNC at the August 20th luncheon when Barbara Walker of Tampa Bay Raptor Rescue shares information about the area’s fascinating and fabulous birds of prey. She will be bringing some very special guests with her…..actual bird ambassadors trained to interact with the public at speaking events. Getting up close and personal with these fine feathered friends is an experience not to be missed.

Barbara has been involved with birds of prey since 2003. She started with Audubon’s EagleWatch Program prior to the delisting of the bald eagle.  Tasked with finding new nests during the re-population phase, Barbara mapped out Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee and Pasco County nests. Awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2012 from Audubon Florida, Barbara, is a member of the Florida Wildlife Rehabilitators Association, the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association, the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council, and the Raptor Research Foundation.  Her favorite bird is the osprey.
